Junior 27/3/15

27 March 2015

Dear Parents,

Our whole school service for Easter took place on Wednesday afternoon. All your children from both schools packed into Holy Trinity church, altogether we were a congregation of 650! The singing was great with our reception children leading the way in the Palm Sunday song “Hosanna Hosanna”. A real high point was a really moving dramatisation of Jesus’ resurrection which Cheryl had directed with children from year 5. It really was a stunning moment and I would like to put a video of it up on our website, but I think it will have to wait until next term. Robert Cotton gave a great message based on the verse, “that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus” - he illustrated this with his red braces.

Earlier in the week we had told the Easter story to all of the children in both schools. A highlight in each class was the teacher washing a child’s feet as Jesus did for his disciples at the last supper. This was a moving moment for everyone. I am pleased that our children understand the importance of thinking deeply and pondering big issues.

This week all the children were invited to consider life changing events in their lives. The results were fascinating: happy, sad, unexpected and wonderful.

This Easter it will be great if we can take some time to think about the Jesus story once again and, as we say to the children: “What was the most important part in the story and where are we in the story?”

I do wish you a blessed Easter and a great holiday.
With best wishes, Richard

Thank you so much for all your enthusiasm for HT @ Home already! Many of us socialise with people we've met via this school, with the friends we make in the class room and at the school gate. In recognition of this, HTSC are encouraging us to arrange lots of socials (which we do anyway). The difference is that, under the HT @ Home umbrella, we can now turn these into mini HT fundraisers by asking guests to make a donation to school via the new online page.

Please keep checking our designated online fundraising page to see how our fundraising efforts are going against target. Our children might be interested to see the page too, for every penny raised will go to improving computers at school. https://mydonate.bt.com/events/htathome/208773
