Dear Parents and Carers,

On behalf of everyone at HTPD, I wanted to write a note to you all as the year draws to a close. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity of spirit. I know that the staff team have been so grateful both for your gifts and cards, but also for your supportive words and encouragement this year. We are so grateful to the Kingcome family who own “Ye Olde Ship Inn”. They generously cooked the staff delicious pizzas so that we could enjoy an end of year celebration! It’s been a tough time and all of us are weary. We are looking forward to that feeling of summer holiday relaxation, hoping to recharge and reflect on all that’s taken place this year. We know that our school is a remarkable place, and you as members of the HTPD community are part of what makes the difference. Thank you for your partnership.

Thank you for your donations towards our “sink fund”. If you haven’t yet had time to donate, we’d be really appreciative. Take a look on Parentpay, or email the finance team for more details (
florab@htpd.surrey.sch.uk).

We have seen quite a lot of families moving out of Guildford over recent months and will look forward to several new faces arriving in September across the school. In fact, there are one or two places available in Year 3, so do spread the word.

As our Year 6 leavers move on, I know that you’ll also want to join me in wishing them well. They are certainly well placed for a move on to secondary school and we are all confident that they are “embracing the future with hope and confidence”. They have demonstrated so clearly our school values in recent weeks, and have lived every opportunity to the full. I was reminded by one of them of this image today; I think it’s spot on.

For those families that are moving on, we wish you well and hope that your memories of happy times at HTPD live long into the future. For those still with us next year, we look forward to welcoming you back to school on Wednesday 2nd September. We are excited to be planning for a full return in September and look forward to catching up with you all then. Until then, enjoy a wonderful summer holiday!

With love,
Clare

Next term arrangements:
All the information about our adjustments are now on the website. Remember no PE kits are necessary, and that children can choose to wear trainers. Please do follow our drop off and pick up information and chat with your child about the way things will have changed.

Pencil case info:
At the juniors in September, the children are encouraged to bring a small wipeable pencil case to school containing the following items so that fewer items are shared:
Year 3 and Year 4: pencils, rubber, sharpener, a few colouring pencils, ruler, glue stick
Year 5 and Year 6: pencils, black handwriting pen, rubber, sharpener, a few colouring pencils, ruler, glue stick
