Junior 20 July 2012

20 July 2012

Dear Parents

So we have arrived at another end of the school year. We have had “graduation” ceremonies for Year 2 and Year 6 and everyone seems well prepared for the next exciting steps. As the children left the disco last night at about 8.10 pm there was a bright rainbow right over Holy Trinity and Pewley Down school. Joseph Harwood was heard to remark that it was “very serendipitous” (we teach good vocabulary at HTPD) and so it was a mark of God’s faithfulness to us in all circumstances.

At both schools we have been following the life story of Joseph and this week have got to the end of the story and the stunning dramatic moment of Joseph revealing himself to his brothers. Joseph’s story also teaches us that through good times and hard times God has a plan and purpose for our lives. We pray for all our school community that, as Robert reminded us in the service yesterday, we will put our hand into his hand and feel sure of his presence.

We are already looking forward to the next exciting year of the school with the leadership team having its first planning meeting this Thursday! In the meantime, have a great holiday, enjoy the Olympics, make lots of memories, keep safe and we look forward to seeing you all again on September 5th.

With best wishes

Message from all the staff "thank you for all the lovely gifts we have received".

Year 3 Coffee Morning
There will be a coffee morning for the Year 3 parents at 1030 on 4th September. Uniform and lunch cards will be available to purchase.

Back to School
Term starts for Year 1-6 on Wednesday 5th September.
Lunch at HTPD
This is to let you know that we have had to raise the cost of our lunches minimally to £2.20 from the 1st September. I hope you will agree that even at this price they are very nutritious and well worth the 10p increase.

House Swim Gala
Well done to all the swimmers who took part in the inaugural house swimming gala this week.

Kate Evans (a past pupil from Holy Trinity) is carrying the Olympic Torch in Godalming on Friday 20 July.  Kate is now 15, she is a passionate footballer who was nominated because of her desire to promote girls football and equality in sport. She will be running from near Godalming United Church on Bridge Rd to High St near Wharf St (see attached map) and they estimate that she will start at 5.47pm.

My last Newsletter entry… I would just like to say, thank you so much for all the help, support and friendship I have received over the last 7 years whilst involved with HTSC. I have loads of great memories and wish you all the best for the future – keep fund raising and having fun! Best wishes Sarah.

We are still on the look out for a Co-chair and Year Reps, please contact Caroline Swift htsc@holytrinity.surrey.sch.uk or caroline@swifts.me.uk

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported HTSC this year. We have had a great year with many fun events and in the process we have raised lots of money for the school. Hope you all have a great Summer.
